Does anyone know who wrote this poem and what is it called?

May 8th, 2012
asked:

Do not call me, father
Do not seek me
Do not call me
Do not wish me back
We’re on a route un-chartered
Fire and blood erase our track
On we fly on wings of thunder
Never more to sheath our swords
All of us in battle fallen
Not to be brought back by words

Will there be a rendezvous?
I know not
I only know we still must fight
We are sand grains in infinity
Never to meet
Never more see light

Farewell then my son
Farewell then my conscience
My youth and my solace
My one and my only
And let this farewell be the end of a story
Of solitude past
And which none is more lonely
In which you remain barred for ever and ever
From light and from air
With your death pangs untold
Untold and un-soothed
Not to be resurrected
Forever and ever an 18 year old

Farewell then
No trains ever come from these regions
Unscheduled or scheduled
No aeroplanes fly there
Farewell then my son
For no miracles happen
As in this world, dreams do not come true
Farewell

I will dream of you still as a baby
Treading the earth with little strong toes
The earth where so many lie buried
This song to my son then is come to its close.

5.1 Dolby from Over-the-air Broadcasts?

May 8th, 2012
asked:

I’m about to buy a new HDTV, and we’re planning on switching from cable (Charter) to satellite (DirecTV); but we’re gonna start off w/ all SD set-top-boxes, and a DVR or two(also SD). I’m the only one in the house planning on upgrading to HD right now, so we won’t order HD programming yet; also because there isn’t too much available, though DirecTV does say about a dozen or so more HD channels are coming by year’s end.
My question is, i know not all HD programming probably is in 5.1 Dolby surround. And i know that they say some HD programming fom Cable/Satellite providers is in surround sound(w/ and STB). I’m wondering, are some Over-the-air broadcasts also in 5.1 Dolby as well… even though it’s terrestrial(O.V.A.)? Like the Primetime shows on NBC or CBS that are in HD… I’ve seen them say at the beginning Availible in HD/5.1.
The other thing that makes me ask this, is because HDTVs with digital tuners in them(ATSC) most likely have digital audio out; optical or coaxial…

How to write a third person point of view story with out using he/she alot?

May 3rd, 2012
XvampireXgirlX asked:

ok so Im writing a story/ Series for fun when im writing it it sounds ok but then when i re read the whole thing it sounds like a fifth grader wrote it, to many she said (insert emotion here) lol can anyone give me some pointers like how i should write it and what kind of words i should use plz help

It’s dawn and the summer air is blowing vigorously,Violet’s on her motorcycle going 50 on a 30 street ,she slows down immediately as she approaches her house, be for getting off she inspects her surroundings car fully, seeing nothing out of place she removes her helmet and pushes the vehicle in the garage
I really should bring Amy inside she said rubbing the headlights
‘I’ll do it after I change
I’ll be back darling she sang looking back with a smile
What a long day said the 17 year old as she opened the front door
my legs are killing me, thank you 9 years of gymnastics you really got me somewhere she groaned locking the door behind her
I hope there’s still some leftover pie
Violet made her way to the kitchen ,practically limping
Today sucked who knew Mr.Hares went to strip clubs, his married and has a two year old daughter for ***** sake, but that would explain him always wanting to ”help” me when I was in his class, cause apparently a 86% wasn’t good enough
Her honey eyes then went from miserable to exited as an idea popped in her head
Lets see how much I made today! she exclaimed lifting herself on the counter
One, one, one, one, on-a five? someone likes me she chucked
By the time she was done emptying her pockets she could hear birds chirping out her window
1325$ and a coupon to the body shop, not bad for a weekday, however I gotta get this smell of sweat and despair off me
***
Violet stepped out of her bedroom wearing nothing but a towel on her head, some lacy green boy shorts and a black t-shirt that was 3 sizes to big for her.
now wheres that pie! she said reaching for last slice of coconut cream pie and stuffed her mouth
OH MY GOD, this is so ******* delicious, its like I’m Gandhi and im eating for the first tIme she said twirling with a spoon in her mouth
Mmm…
Violet was so indulged with her pie that she didn’t acknowledge the fact that her feet won’t touching the floor. Two bites and a sigh later reality struck her
****, not again she said tilting her head back dropping her spoon in the process
you think I would be able to control this by now she closed her eye and fell down
ow.. I shouldn’t have done it so fast
she rubbed her sides then made her way to her bedroom
where did I-aha she grimaced a little as she reached for the labeless bottle of pills
bottoms up
Violet made her way back to the kitchen feeling light headed, she didn’t give it a second thought because she knew it was just the effects of the pill she toke
wish I could go back in time, make this better

ok so like that’s what i have so far im planing on adding 2 more main charters other then her can somene tell me what im doing wrong

Recourse for First Grader Being Expelled?

April 13th, 2012
asked:

Our son is six and in first grade. Twice in Kindergarten, he had meltdowns where he was inconsolable and once fought against a teacher who tried to restrain him. Fine all summer, but now in first grade at a new Montessori charter school. His bursts of anger have gotten worse. Never an initiator, always a reactor but he gets enraged. We’ve been to two therapists and no diagnosis. After this last meltdown, I was terrified because the teacher said that looking into his eyes, it was as though nobody was home.

We’ve struggled with his emotional meltdowns off and on for quite some time, but never anything like this. In kindergarten when he had his meltdown, we took him to a therapist for several weeks, and when she didn’t seem to have any kind of diagnosis or treatment plan, we left. After last week’s episode (he got so frustrated he ran around the room hollaring and shaking his arms in the air before he calmed down), we called another therapist (our third) and he said the first order business was to get him to the pediatrician for a checkup. We did that last Tuesday (the meltdown was Monday).

After that, we had a parent interview with the therapist, but held off because the school told us they wanted a meeting with the district psychologist. That was set for tomorrow (Tuesday).

Keep in mind, I’ve had long talks with everyone involved to see what was really going on and see what could be done for my son. Everyone has been asking things like is he getting enough sleep (yes) good diet and hydration (yes, very much so). Loving limits? Yep. Ask our 13 year old who has never been in trouble at school a day in his life.

So today I got an email that we couldn’t have our meeting with the district psychologist tomorrow, but had to postpone it till Friday. Okay, we’ll be there Friday.

I get to school at 3pm and my son is in the office. They said it was a big meltdown, that he pulled out some kind of stick and waved it around, and again, it was like nobody was home when they looked at him. He doesn’t seem to remember much of it. I get right on the phone with the therapist we’d picked out, and she calls me right back… says I could treat him, but I have a better idea. She recommends a man whom she says is amazing at treating kids who have these rage episodes. Great. I call him and leave a message (which is what you do with therapists). An hour later, I get a call from the school. They’ve suspended my son for five days with the intent to expel him.

I still have no diagnosis, no treatment plan. At home, my child needs a lot of limits, because he does get very easily frustrated. But he has never hurt another human being, not since he was 3 and hit his dad and me during a tantrum.

He told me that today at school, another kid (who, by the way, had previously punched him in the stomach) punched him in the head and he lost it (my words, not his). Nobody saw the other kid hit him, but he knows he got really angry afterward. When it comes to the meltdown that ensued, he’s foggy on the details, which scares the hell out of me.

But now my child is being expelled from the first grade, from all his friends, from his routine. I’m scared to death, and I’m hurt and frustrated.

Any advice? This is a brand spankin’ new public charter school. The maximum suspension is five days, and that’s what he’s gotten. Their charter says they can expel any student who has caused, attempted to cause, or threatened to cause injury to another person.

Any help appreciated, thank you.
As for it being schizophrenia or bipolar, we doubt it because it’s situational. It’s only at school, and only when provoked. Our county has one pediatric psychiatrist for the whole county, and they advised going through a therapist first, again b/c it seems to be situational. Thanks again (and in advance) for all the great feedback.
(sorry) and when I say provoked, I don’t mean I take it lightly or don’t see that there’s a real problem with my child. I promise I do. I just mean it doesn’t happen outside of school, and we went seven months without a problem. Thanks. I’ll stop typing now :) (sorry) and when I say provoked, I don’t mean I take it lightly or don’t see that there’s a real problem with my child. I promise I do. Is our president obama relying on americans disinterest in politics to rob the united states blind?

April 13th, 2012
asked:

Obama’s misnamed “Financial Regulatory Reform Plan” is a brazen attempt by the bankers to consolidate their power.

Obama’s plan will be run out of the Treasury under former New York Fed Grand Poobah Timothy Geithner.

Obama — or rather, the bankers who own Obama — has devised something called a “Financial Services Oversight Council” to be chaired by the bankster dominated Treasury Department. This uber-council would call the shots for every financial firm in the country and supposedly refer “emerging risks to the attention of regulators with the authority to respond,” even as Obama plans to call for the U.S. Office of Thrift Supervision to close under the direction of the Federal Reserve.

Instead of independent bank regulators, Obama proposes a “National Bank Supervisor” who would have “separate status within Treasury and be led by a single executive,” according to Clusterstock. The NBS czar would occupy a centralized post in enemy territory and “take over the prudential responsibilities of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, which currently charters and supervises nationally chartered banks and federal branches and agencies of foreign banks.”

Next up, Obama tells us he wants to create a Consumer Financial Protection Agency, a laughable proposal if it wasn’t so criminally dishonest. It would be charged with protecting consumers of credit, savings, payment and financial products and services, or so we are expected to believe. It will be another government behemoth beholden to the same financial elite that has so far ransacked the nation to the tune of trillions of dollars.

“The CFPA will be a massive new agency that will impact everyone in the United States in some form,” writes Andrew Busch, a markets strategist at BMO Capital Markets in Chicago. “Providing this much power to one agency is truly frightening as they will get to set the rules and pick the winners/losers for the financial sector.”

You know, the same “winners” now ruling the roost.

Then there is the Office of National Insurance, also to set up camp in the Treasury. It will allegedly improve and broaden the regulation of insurance companies and affiliates on a consolidated basis, including affiliates outside the traditional insurance business, and will offer consistent consumer protection for insurance products and practices.

The excuse for this one is the failure of AIG. On September 16, 2008, AIG suffered a liquidity crisis following the downgrade of its credit rating. It needed a $85 billion credit infusion from the money out of thin air folks over at the Federal Reserve. The Fed basically ended up owning AIG and its boatload of toxic debt.

If you check the Federal Reserve Act, you will see there is nothing in there about the ability to buy up insurance companies. But then, since the Fed is not actually a part of the U.S. government and is a private banking corporation owned by a consortium of private banks, it is not beholden to no stinking act passed in the dead of night during a Christmas recess way back in 1913.

•It wasn’t insurance losses that nearly toppled AIG — it was the actions of secretive unit that caused more than $18 billion in losses for the world’s largest insurance company. AIG Financial Products was run like a hedge fund out of London and Wilton, Connecticut, and specialized in derivatives masquerading as “financial products.”

Do you think the Treasury, run by little Timmy Geithner — who was president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, worked for the master criminals Robert Rubin and Lawrence Summers, spent time at the CFR and learned a trick or two under the direction of Herr Kissinger and Associates — will “regulate” derivatives pretending to be “financial products” for insurance customers?

Please.

Wall Street and its international offshore banker overlords are addicted to derivatives. “These derivatives now amount to a total worldwide notional value that can be estimated between 1 quadrillion and two quadrillion US dollars. This sum is so large that it dwarfs the total value of the entire planet earth and all those who live here,” notes Webster G. Tarpley.

If you think Obama and crew plan to do something about this massive black hole, I have a bridge to sell you on Krypton.

Obama’s “Financial Regulatory Reform Plan” is but another bankster scam. It is an obvious plan to grab up more industries and goodies under the guise of “regulation” and (ack) “consumer protection.” So contemptuous of you and your family are the bankers they don’t even attempt to make this threadbare nonsense plausible. It is thievery right out in the open.

Our only hope at this point is the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, HR 1207, now up to 232 co-sponsors. It needs a two-thirds vote with 290 members on board so the bankster tool Obama will not veto it.

On that day of its passage there will be a short cry of hosanna — and then we will open the Fed’s books and begin

After instructing for a while and getting a good amount of hours, do part 135 operators like corporate charter or air ambulence pilots get type rated and trained by the companies they work for or do they have to do that themselves. Algonquin college vs Seneca college for aviation?

March 30th, 2012
Pilot dude asked:

Hi,
I am interested in going into an aviation program. I am still debating wether I should go to Algonquin for the 16 month program or seneca for the 4 year. I am interested in becoming an airline pilot. I am living in Ottawa where Algonquin is. I know that Algonquin college will fast track your career and get you working as intructors or small charters much faster then Seneca. But I know Seneca you get a bachelor degree and more education. So can you guys please help me out? There are lots of pros and cons to both but which do you think the airlines like air canada, westjet or porter airlines will hire? Thanks.
P.S. If you are or were an airline pilot, or went to one of these schools, please put it under resources so I know an opinion from a person in the industry.

Verify the answers for 10 points! philosophy majors please! Argument form, put last Q. in S.F?

March 23rd, 2012
Penn asked:

To the Editor:
Luck and chance have always determined where one attends school. If you are lucky enough to be born to reasonably well-off parents who can write checks to private schools or buy a house in an expensive suburb, opportunity is everywhere. If you aren’t so fortunate, your parents grit their teeth and send you to the neighborhood school.
Charter schools might seem the answer to this problem, since they offer underprivileged students access to a quality education that would otherwise be out of reach. But Natalie Hopkinson’s excellent essay about her desperate hunt for a middle school for her 11-year-old in a low-income section of Washington challenges this claim. The race to offer choice ignores something fundamental about most good schools: they have an involved parent body and community. When a school is not community-based, a lot of the air is let out. Some 34 percent of Washington’s charter schools have been required to give up their charter — a higher share of schools than those closed by the public school system.
Here’s a modest suggestion: keep students from successful elementary schools together. School choice will always exist for those with the means to choose where to live, but not for those in less prosperous urban neighborhoods. In sum, the revitalization of neighborhood schools is the answer to what ails urban education in America.

Does this letter present an argument? Yes

Is it simple or complex? complex

What is the overall conclusion? Luck and chance have always determined where one attends school.

Circle any indicator words. (if, since, and, in sum)

Present the argument in standard form. ??

Thanks!
